Dropped Handsets

So, you've dropped your phone, or the phone has received a heavy impact of some nature. An impact can cause several things to happen:
- The screen (LCD) gets cracked or damaged.
- The phone no longer seems to power.
- The speaker, microphone or ringer stops functioning.
- The phone no longer charges up.
- General physical damage.
- You can no longer receive a good signal
These are all consequences of a handset receiving an impact. So what do you do now?
Firstly try and diagnose the exact problem. If the screen does not seem to work when you power up, have a look at the buttons to see if they still light up, then try calling yourself from someone else's phone, if the phone rings then the fault is probably just due to the LCD not working.
A word of warning when sending in your handset after it has been dropped; after the impact there may be components within the phone which have become loose or detached and the chassis of the phone is just holding them in place. When we open the phone up, there is a probability the phone will never work again as these loose or detached pieces fall apart after the chassis is un-screwed, thus we cannot be held responsible for anything that happens after the phone is opened.
In most cases the problems listed above can be fixed but with signal faults there is a likely chance it can't be fixed as this usually means the damage has been too extensive. Thus we do not fix phones with signal problems.
